BY RALPH AND FELIX
Hello from Ralph and Felix. We are going to talk about the candidates that were interviewed to become the new JKPS headteacher.
Luckily for us at the Mog Chronicle, two of our journalists, Max and Oscar, got to be part of the interview panel.
They interviewed Ms. Sarah and an external person who was also going for the job.
They asked the two candidates questions including: “What are the first three things you will do when you become headteacher?” and “Why do you think you’d be good at this job?”
The student interviewers were split into two groups. Oscar interviewed Ms. Sarah and said she looked a little nervous. But she smashed it.
“It felt weird because she was my teacher in Reception,” said Oscar. “But I was really happy she got the job.”
Interviewing alongside Oscar was Henry in Year 5, Matilda in Year 5, Leah in Year 4 and Naimh in Year 4.
Max interviewed the external candidate with Evie in Year 5 and some others who we have forgotten! (If you were part of the interview process and read this, please let us know your names.)
Here at the Mog Chronicle we are absolutely delighted that Ms. Sarah will become the new headteacher however we are still sad that Mr. Patrick is leaving us to move to Portugal.
“I think she’s probably the best person to do the job,” said Mog journalist Laurie. “She gets the kids, she knows the school, she knows what people like and knows what properly needs to change.”
“I think she will be good at the job becuase she knows the kids really well,” said Ralph.
“She has a kind heart and she knows everybody in the school,” said Oscar.
We asked Ms. Sarah how she was feeling following her appointment.
“I was feeling excited beforehand but I knew I had to keep it as a surprise,” she said. “But now I am feeling really happy because it’s all over and people are giving me lovely messages of approval.”
She said the first thing she will do as headteacher is welcome everybody back after the summer holidays.
And then…?
We hope to get an exclusive interview with Ms. Sarah soon and we will be asking her all sorts of tough questions then. At least she will be well prepared after the first interviews.
WELL DONE MS. SARAH.
