We at the Mog Chronicle love reading books. Our journalist Max, in Year 5, read this one and particularly liked it for its fast action and fun ideas.

He gives it a star rating of five out of five.

The book starts when the main character, Alex Rider, a 14-year-old schoolboy, is forcibly recruited by MI6.

He is sent on a dangerous mission to Cornwall and there he meets a puncy man named Herod Sayle who is generously giving a free computer to every school in England.

There is a twist though because Herod is acting as if he has got something to hide. Can Alex stumble across the truth before it’s too late? Or will he fail misearably?
