All you need to know about the trendy (or not so trendy) meme.
6-7 originated as a rap and was used to advertise basketball. It became a meme and a hand action was added to it. You put your palms up in front of you, one up and one down, then alternate, like a weighing scale.

Here are the highs and the lows of the 6-7 phenomenon.
Pros:
It is a fun action; anyone can join in!
Lots of people think it is fun to have a well-known thing that you can do together, it makes people feel included.
It can help people make friends, ending in a better community.
Cons:
It can make people feel stressed and it can get annoying if it has been said too many times.
It can make people feel excluded if they don’t like it.
Teachers find it hard to teach their pupils if they are screaming 6-7 all the time. And struggling students will struggle even more.
6-7 is old news. Let’s think of something new!
We’ve asked people what they think and this is what they said: “6-7 is so out of fashion. Keir Starmer said it and if the prime minister said it then you know it’s out of fashion!” said one Year 5 pupil, who wanted to remain anonymous.
“6-7 is imprinted in my mind, and not in a good way,” said Matilda in Year 5.
“6-7 is the greatest of all time,” said another anonymous Year 5 pupil.
In conclusion, although 6-7 is enjoyed greatly, the majority of people think it’s outdated.
There are new memes on the way and let’s welcome them into our society.
