On July 6, famous Liverpool United and Portugal football player Diogo Jota died in a car crash in Spain. He died along with his younger brother Andre Silva, who was also in the car.

Tragically, Jota got married just days before the fatal accident and had three young children.

Jurgen Kloop, former manager of Liverpool United Football Club, had this to say: “This is a moment where I struggle. There must be a bigger purpose, but I can’t see it. I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and Andre.”

JKPS has lots of shocked Liverpool fans – here is what some had to say:

Tristan, Year 6, said: “I didn’t even know until I was playing tennis at the end of yesterday. I feel sad as he was one of the best players and the second biggest goal scorer in our team so he will be missed.”

Laurence, Year 5, said: “I feel very sad because he was a great player. And because he was Portuguese, because I’m part Portuguese. It’s such a shame as he has done so well and suddenly he died. It’s a shame, he was a good guy. It’s really bad for his children. I’m devastated.”
