You may have noticed a new face around the school. Since Ms. Jo’s absence we have had a mysterious women picking up her lunch in the Year 6 classroom kitchen, or looking serious in a deep discussion in the Heads office…. This is Ms. Vicki.
Although she is an unfamiliar face, she is most definitely a friendly one. Our first impressions of her have been positive! From helping us find those pesky indoor shoes which go missing, to smiling at us at the front gates even when we are running late, she seems to be there to help!
We were also curious about who she is and where she has come from. We decided to ask her a few friendly questions.
- Who do you work for?
Anthem Trust, like all teachers in the school! - What was your reaction when you were asked to substitute Ms. Jo?
I felt very happy because I have known this school since it first opened. Especially as I opened another Trust school at the same time that Judith Kerr was opened. Which was just over ten years ago. - How do you like this school so far?
The children are lovely and they try really hard in class. Teachers and children have a great connection and all the staff are super friendly. - Are you allowed to change the rules?
Technically yes, but only when I talk to the staff first to see whether they agree with my decisions. Soon there are going to be some changes in the lunch hall… so you’ve got the inner scoop here, and keep your eyes out. - Why did you become a teacher?
I have been a teacher for over twenty years. My grandmother was a teacher so I was inspired by her. - Do you enjoy your job?
Yes, because my colleagues are really nice, friendly and cheerful. The children are also a joy to work with. - Are you going to stay at this school after Ms. Jo returns?
Yes, but I will not be here everyday, I will pop in and out, so you will keep seeing me in the future.
From this interview we have learnt more about this friendly women, so next time you cross paths with Ms. Vicki be sure to give her a friendly smile!
We, the children, offer you a warm welcome to JKPS.
