Have you heard that the JKPS Girls Tigers kicked off to a great start? (See what we did there…!?) We won 7 -1 to St Mary’s and we drew 2-2 to Dunraven. We have a strong goalie, we have a solid wall of defence, midfielders that will take you down and strikers that have got amazing aims.
However, despite all of the hard work and professional skills…. We shockingly lack an official kit. We look like amateurs, it’s an insult to their reputation and a total embarrassment to JKPS.

Sadly, football kits are expensive. Very expensive. To be matching and professional it costs hundreds of pounds. Money that we can’t get in a blink of an eye. Money that will have to be earnt or sponsored.
But the girls are not prepared to give up easily. They do already have some big plans for the kit. They want to design it themselves so of course the kit will be elaborate, professional, flexible, stylish and bright…. When it does get made, they will look iconic.
One idea to get the girls in the kit is to do some bizarre yet fun fundraisers, something that involves the whole school. Some ideas are as follows: fancy dress a sponsored run, baked sale, dress up as a teacher day, ketchup the teachers, design your own kit competition. So be ready – if the time comes we will need your involvement and all hands on deck.

However, there has also been a recent twist involving a friend of the school. After a tiring game (that the Tiger’s won, of course). Coach Leo was munching some steaming hot chips straight from Ken’s Fish and Chip bar. Coach Leo is a friendly, chatty man, so of course next thing we heard, we are 99% sure that Ken, the generous man himself, will be the new sponsor for the kit. Despite saying this, the prices for the kit have been changing constantly and we are yet to get a fixed answer from Ken (the fish and chippie fanatic) about how much we need to raise.
Watch this space. We will be interviewing Ken in the coming weeks to find out more. We all have our fingers and toes crossed that Ken will deliver the footy goods!
